It seems hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end and summer vacation is about to begin. Your preschool children have grown and learned so much this year and will enter kindergarten in just a few months! Remember they do not need to be ready for Kindergarten; Kindergarten needs to be ready for them! A good teacher will meet children where he or she is and guide their learning.
Often parents ask for meaningful literacy activities to do with their children over the summer. Here is a calendar with some ideas to help you create meaningful literacy experiences.

Please remember that it is just as important for you to continue reading throughout the summer. These activities should not replace enjoying books with your child!
Below you will find a link to a calendar of literacy activities for July. An August calendar will be posted towards the end of July. You can choose which activities you’d like to complete each week. It is our recommendation that you complete at least 10 activities from each month. We hope that you have fun with these activities!
